Demonstration and Proving Ground

The demonstration and proving ground of PJSC “AutoKrAZ” is the only in Ukraine facility designed for testing heavy-duty wheeled vehicles, including military vehicles.

The proving ground is used for testing new vehicles, demonstrating their performance to potential buyers and researching in the process of building new versions of mass-produced trucks and its groups and units. Moreover, it helps optimize running in of new trucks rolling off assembly line.

Its distinctive feature is compactness. The 2-ha proving ground allows stable visual observation in the course of testing, comparison testing, fast movements between testing facilities.

The set of testing facilities provides opportunity to evaluate cross-country ability, maneuverability, dynamic behavior of wheeled vehicles, and test vehicles for ruggedness under the most extreme conditions.

Two 4m wide courses with special obstacles located on each of them are just in front a viewing stand.

Configuration and characteristics of test facilities are similar to those on the world known proving grounds: Nijniy Tagil (RF), NIII-21 MOD RF (Bronnitsy), NITSIAMT (Dmitrov), IDEX (United Arab Emirates), SOFEX (Jordan).

"Concrete tank obstacles" - chain concrete blocks with dimensions 1.5 x 1 5 m, the distance between the blocks 2,2 m (along the direction of movement), the height of the first row of blocks - 0.2 m, the height of the subsequent blocks - 0.4 m here geometric cross checked the car, with the chassis, suspension and vehicle bridges subjected to high stresses.

"Field testing for agility" in size 40 ? 40 m. Here are tested vehicles on the maneuvering.

Obstruction "Forest Dam" - randomly arranged logs with a diameter up to 0.5 m mimic real wood obstruction. On this part of the geometric cross checked the car and tested chassis, suspension and axles vehicle in difficult driving conditions.

Obstruction "Blockage of stones" randomly arranged huge stones weighing up to 200 kg stone deposits form. On this part of the geometric cross checked the car, tested chassis components, carrier steering systems, tires.

"Sprinkler" is designed to test the car for water resistance (OST 37.001.248-86) under the influence of artificial rain, including heavy tropical downpour.

"Sandy land" - a width of 6 m in length, 34 m deep sand bed - 1 m to test the off-road in the passage of loose sand.

"Hill 10 m high" - on its slopes are located at: the plot with a slope of 60% - for testing vehicles to overcome overhoist (GOST V25759-83 *), a site with a slope of 20% - Test the parking brake system of single vehicles (in compliance with Regulation number 13 UNECE), a site with a slope of 12% - test the parking brake system trains (for compliance with Regulation number 13 UNECE).

"Springboard" in height 0.5 m - an obstacle for the test frame and suspension bridges of the car on the impact of a single load is extremely high.

"Multistage ledge" - speed symmetrical concrete mound 0.8 m, in which the lower level has a height of 0.2 m each, and the top level - 0,4 m This site is for checking geometric cross car tested chassis, suspension and bridges in a single vehicle peak loads.

"Cylindrical bumps" - six bumps cylindrical height of 0.4 m arranged in two rows. At what height between individual clumps uneven road surface, allowing you to check the steering, frame, suspension, axles car under heavy alternating loads.

"Hill of the pipes" - 10 concrete pipes with a diameter of 0.8 m form a pile height of 1 m to test the off-road geometry, as well as the test frame and suspension bridges of the car under cyclic loads.

"Pool" - is designed to test cars on ability to overcome water obstacles. The design of the pool allows testing of vehicles on the wading depth of 1.2 m, 1.5 m, 1.75 m (GOST V26442-85).

"The rolling road" length of 28 m, a width of 3.6 m and the distance between the tops of the hills - to 6 m to test the off-road chain rolling hills.

"The railway embankment" in height of 0.7 m, which is laid fragment of railway track length of 6.25 m height from the base of the mound to the top of the rails - 0.9 m Construction of geometric cross-checks the vehicle in difficult driving conditions, and tested frame suspension bridges and vehicles.

"Mountain" with a cross slope of 200 and a length of 15 m to test the stability of a moving car to the side rollover (GOST V25759-83 *.)

"Vertical wall" in height 0.6 m controls the ability to overcome obstacles large single car.

"Parallel beams" - in two rows (15 pieces for each) are disposed concrete beam width and height of 0.4 m, the distance between the beams (0.6 m in the direction of motion). On this part of the geometric cross checked the car and place the test steering, frame, and suspension bridges of the car in a repetitive (cyclic) loads.

"Skew beam" - is eight concrete beams height of 0.4 m and a width of 0.4 m at an angle of 0 30 to each other. On this site does not check only the geometric cross car, but also test the steering frame and suspension bridges of the car at high alternating loads.

"Moat, 2 m width, and trench width of 1 m" - constitute obstacles designed to test the performance of the longitudinal cross-country vehicle.
