In the end of May, in Ataki village, Chernovitskaya oblast’, there were held training exercises “Dnestr-2009” of Ministry of Emergency Situations led by Vladimir Shandra, MES Minister. Prospecting works and salvage and rescue operations were tested in the flood.
155 rescuers of MES participated in the training exercises, 48 units of special salvage and rescue vehicles were involved including pyrotechnic KrAZ-6322 and KrAZ-5233 trucks, excavator planner on the KrAZ-63221 base and other KrAZ trucks with special mountings.
The training exercises involved MES subdivisions from Chernovitskaya, Zakarpatskaya, Ivano-Frankovskaya, Lvovskaya, Ternopolskaya and Khmelnitskaya oblast’s, rescue and special services of the Ministry.
Having the purpose to re-equip the MES subdivisions with up-to-date engineering and special vehicles, the MES Minister, Vladimir Shandra, directed five new fire fighting trucks ÀÖ-60(65053), model 335.02, to the main departments of Ukraine’s MES in Chernovitskaya, Khmelnitskaya, Ternopolskaya and Ivano-Frankovskaya oblast’s.
Fire tank truck is based on three-axle chassis KrAZ-65053, equipped with Euro-2 engine and tank of 8000 l capacity; it has up-to-date system management equipment and fire fighting equipment performed according to the Ukraine’s MES requirements.
During the trainings, MES rescuers were working through revealing and neutralizing highly explosive objects discovered after the flood, establishing the temporary bridge with TMM set on KrAZ chassis.
In 2008, Holding Company “AvtoKrAZ” supplied 24 trucks to MES of Ukraine, including special pyrotechnic KrAZ-63221 and KrAZ-5322 trucks. The vehicles have been immediately set about to execute urgent tasks, in particularly, suppressing the consequences of emergency situations in the territory of the 275th rocket and ammunition ordnance depot in Novobogdanovka village, Melitopol district, mine-clearing the ammunition of the Great Patriotic War in Khmelnitskaya and other oblast’s of Ukraine.
