Azerbaijan has purchased new KrAZ chassis for oil-and-gas complex

Within the first days of December of the current year Holding company “AvtoKrAZ” has shipped to Azerbaijan the first batch of KrAZ vehicles manufactured under the tender that has been won this year.

The supplied vehicles are chassis KrAZ-65101-0000100 of 6x4 wheel arrangement that are equipped with the engine model YAMZ-238M2 of 240 h.p. They will be applied for installation of oil-and-gas equipment manufactured by a machine-building factory of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani manufacturers of special-purpose superstructures give preference to KrAZ chassis, first of all, due to vehicle structural strength that enables to carry out-of-limit load. Special-purpose equipment mounted on KrAZ chassis is the most adapted for operation in off-roads conditions and traditionally is in demand of extractive industry enterprises of Azerbaijan.

Unfortunately, since the end of 2008 and in the first half of 2009 there have been no purchases of KrAZ automobile equipment in this area. The reason for this were general recessionary tendencies on the world markets that affected the market of Azerbaijan as well and resulted in slowing down of the economy and business decline.

The second half-year period is distinguished by revival of the market determined by the growth of world oil price. Should this positive tendency for world oil prices growth maintains, the demand for KrAZ vehicles in this area in the year 2010 is expected to increase.
