Active engineering development of KrAZ C20.0 continues

The Kremenchug automobile plant, the head enterprise of Holding company “AvtoKrAZ” carries out active engineering development of the first prototype sample of KrAZ C20.0 dump truck with a brand new for KrAZ “cabin above engine” design layout.

Laboratory-road testing having been completed, defined technical characteristics of the vehicle, including fuel economy, brake capabilities, amount of internal and external noise and vehicle maneuverability.

Testing has shown that new dump truck capabilities are well above than the rated ones. For example, the maximum vehicle speed is higher than the rated one by 10 % and makes 90 km/h, the turning radius – 8.7 m instead of the rated 9 m, maximum negotiable slope – 30%, being higher than the standard one by 5%.

Subject to comments received during preliminary tests, as well as suggestions of the reporters’ that were present during main testing of KrAZ C20.0 in June on the demonstration-testing area of HC “AvtoKrAZ”, a number of changes were introduced to design of the cabin and other units and components of the new product. Namely, engineers brought in the low skirt in the cabin front part and updated locks of the opening radiator enclosure and the instrument panel inside the cabin.

Renewed cabin basic structure and upholstery will enable to increase inner space, improve the driver’s workplace.
