KrAZ Celebrates the Day of the City

29 September, 2015

Kremenchug celebrated the day of the City on 27th of September.  As part of the festivities, Kremenchug rescuers conducted a traditional event “Prevent, save, keep safe”.  AutoKrAZ” did not stand aside and took an active part in it. The company showcased a new lineup of military armored vehicles and the KrAZ Н23.2 (АC 13-70) fire fighting tanker truck.

First, a convoy of vehicles drove along the central street of the city to Victory Square to participate at the parade of special vehicles, where fire fighters demonstrated their skills in extinguishing a burning vehicle. After show presented by firefighters, numerous visitors surrounded the vehicles. Powerful military vehicles KrAZ that were especially popular contrasted with obsolete light fire fighting trucks that looked quite unattractive. Adults and children crowded in a queue at the KrAZ-Shrek, wishing to take picture at this armored giant, the most courageous of them helped by their parents managed to climb up the back of it.  The KrAZ-Spartan, the KrAZ-Cougar and fire fighting tanker truck were no less popular.

Civil Protection Service Colonel Mr. Sergey Gerashchenko, Head of Municipal and Regional Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Poltava region thanked General Director “AutoKrAZ” Mr. Roman Chernyak for response to proposal to participate in the event and showcase new vehicles. He said: “I am proud that there is a manufacturer of trucks in our town, KrAZ plant! I am glad the lineup also includes vehicles used for rescue operations. Unfortunately, these vehicles are just what we need. The last purchase took place in 2009, these were two vehicles ZiL 130 and Valday, quality and performance of which are far from perfect.  Two years ago we had to rebuild and overhaul them.  The other vehicles of our fleet are obsolete fire fighting tanker trucks and ladder trucks, which are 30 years and more old.

I envy to all these people crowding around big new vehicles KrAZ:  our vehicles are old and boring. I look enviously at the KrAZ Н23.2 (АC 13-70) fire fighting tanker truck in service with our colleagues at Mining and Concentrating Company: I wish I had at least three of these vehicles. One such KrAZ vehicle can replace 5 ZiL 130 vehicles. We do not face difficulties in coping with urban fires due to hydrants available but in the country things are not so good: it is impossible to extinguish a burning house with 2,5 tonnes of water delivered by ZiL. I hope much that after upcoming elections communities will take matters into their hands and many things will change, including procurement of efficient fire fighting vehicles manufactured by KrAZ for all the departments of State Emergency Service.”
