Prime Minister Gives a Task to Develop Manufacturing Incentive System

Today, February 16, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mr.Vladimir Groysman held meeting on support of manufacturing in Ukraine. People’s Deputy Mr.Konstantin Zhevago and General Director PJSC “AutoKrAZ” participated at this meeting along with First Vice-Minister, Minister for Economic Development and Commerce Mr.Kubiv, Minister for Finances Mr.Danilyuk, Prime Deputy Minister  for Economic Development and Commerce Mr.Nefedov, top officials of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the State Service for Emergency Situations,  SJSC “Roads of Ukraine”. Participants of the meeting discussed plans aimed at meeting the needs of state institutions in domestic special vehicles.

Following the discussion the Minister for Economic Development and Commerce Mr.Kubiv and Industrial Development National Committee have been instructed to develop domestic manufacturing incentive system.

“We need well-thought-out domestic manufacturing incentive system“, - emphasized Mr.Groysman. Such comprehensive approach will certainly help us restore economic growth in Ukraine. It is very important to get quality products. Everyone who uses vehicles needs it for carrying or saving lives, said the Prime Minister. Every vehicle rolling off assembly line must offer better quality. This will make it possible for our machine-building industry to extend export market presence“.

While discussing demand for new fire fighting vehicles for fleets the Head of the Government stressed the necessity to develop medium-term procurement program.

He recalled the meeting on support of manufacturing held Januarys 23, following which a task to prepare a chart of demand for vehicles for government institutions, from security and defence sector on down to road maintenance companies.

“Maximum local content is very important. Everything we purchase using budgetary funds must be efficient for our economy. All the vehicles we purchase mist be made by Ukrainian companies. What is the most important is that it is not SKD assembly but all the units and parts, 60 percent and more, are made by Ukrainian companies.  This ensures jobs and salaries “, - emphasized the Prime Minister.

“AutoKrAZ” hopes that active efforts of government in development of manufacturing in Ukraine and series of instructions to relevant departments for development of strategy for taking required actions will drive industry recovery   and economic stabilization in the country.
